Meet our Youth Pastor

Jordan Warren

Hi, My name is Jordan Warren and I am the Youth Pastor at Highland First Baptist Church. I am currently 22 years of age, and I am attending college with the online program at "The Baptist College of Florida". After I gain my bachelor's degree I will pursue my Masters at "Southern Baptist Theological Seminary", then I would like to the pursue my PHD in Theological studies.

In my life I have been influenced by men in the failth such as, Roy Braddock (My Grandfather), R.C. Sproul, Charles Spurgeon, John Piper, Frances Chan, and David Jeremiah. My Grandfather is the one who challenged me the most to grow spiritually, and search out the scriptures for the truth instead of men. I believe men of God can be role models, and an important key, put in our lives by God in order to grow us spiritually , but we should always line their words up with scripture. My God given Goal for the Youth Group at Highland First Baptist Church is to help them grow spiritually and in the knowledge of Jesus Christ, moving on from "Elementary Doctrines" as the writer of Hebrews puts it.

Do you know what youth is?

Youth as described by Mr. Webster himself; simply stated, is a group of young people, or the age between being a child and adulthood. This is one of the hardest periods that a young person will experience in their lives. They are trying so hard to fit-in, be normal, act older than they are, please Mom and Dad, and figure out who they are. Then there's more than that... They are worried about who they would like to become, how important is money anyway, how much money is a good living, do I need everything mom and dad have, wait should I have those things???

In a young person's mind there are so many factors going on when their door is closed, when they don't know how their day went. When they love you one minute and not the next. Parents....all the while.....it seems like they are doing nothing....when in reality there minds are moving at a pace that we can barely keep up with. AND....is God real or is that just an adult thing?

At Highland we make ourselves available to be here to mentor, and encourage this age group. To not only teach them, but show them what God's love is. We have an established youth group waiting for your teenager to plug-in to. Wednesday Nights is a perfect time to bring them so they can connect with other youth in their area and build meaningful relationships. People who understand what they are going through. That's what a youth group does. As for you parents, who can be worn out in the middle of week trying to raise this age group in God's unfailing love... Come revive yourself with adults in the sanctuary and study the book of Acts with us. Acts....is a Call to ACTION! A way to learn how to influence your teenager through God's word.
